Free SXSW Events | Lady Luxe Life:
Free SXSW Events? Yes, it is true! You don’t need a Platinum wrist band to have fun during one of the biggest tourist attractions of the year. There is a lot happening, and I thought you would enjoy a curated list of what to do! Do512.com and Tribeza have an entire SXSW guide and Eventbrite is another great resource.
Here are a list of my favorite free options:
Rolling Stones Future of Music:
Tribeza site states “Rolling Stone’s Future of Music franchise honors the artists shaping the music of tomorrow — in all genres, all over the world. It’s our commitment to bringing you what’s new, what’s next, and what’s moving the culture forward.
Quickly established as a marquee showcase of SXSW’s music festival, Rolling Stone returns to Austin with its second-annual Future of Music programming, taking place March 12 – 15 at ACL Live at The Moody Theater.
Inspired by the spirit of SXSW, this four-night concert series celebrates the sounds of today and tomorrow, spanning all genres. The Future of Music showcase will be open to all SXSW badge holders and the public.”
Who doesn’t love the Rolling Stones? It sounds so interesting! Click here to RSVP.
South X San Jose:
South x San Jose is one of the chillest vibes in Austin and their garden is one of the best for a cocktail, along with live music is divine. Their website says:
“Since 2000, we’ve hosted South by San José in the parking lot we share with Jo’s Coffee. Each year, we come together for live music, local vendors, and good times. Music starts at noon each day, rain or shine, and the party is always and forever free to attend.
2024 marks our 25th anniversary of parties in the parking lot and we’re honored that our gathering has become an anticipated event on the Austin calendar each spring. We’ve seen oodles of bands pass through, drank a few Topos or twelve, and generally had the best time.
We can’t wait to do it all over again.”
SXSW Community Concerts:
“The SXSW Community Concerts at Lady Bird Lake is our largest stage at SXSW and is free, open to the public and family-friendly. Located at 800 W Riverside Dr., the Austin skyline serves as the perfect background to special live music showcases. Bring a picnic or enjoy food from some of Austin’s local food trucks, and grab a cold beverage in The Beer Garden.”
