Ways to Beat the Heat | Lady Luxe Life
Ways to beat the heat seems like a perfect blog topic when it’s 100 degrees here in Texas. Beaumont, Texas has a whole article and I thought it was very educational, and wanted to share it with all of you! Here are a few tips:
I am all about fashion, and to know there is actual science behind wearing something loose and light colored!
“The article states, Dark colors absorb light, which in turn makes your body warm up faster. Try to avoid dark colors and long sleeved clothing, such as hoodies and jeans. Stick to shorts and t-shirts – the true Texas uniform!”
“Nothing is worse than waking up in the middle of the night in a pool of sweat, so start sleeping cool! Cotton sheets are made of natural fibers, making them a breathable, temperature-controlling fabric.”
Sleeping on Cotton Sheets sounds divine. I am definitely not a fan of waking up in sweat. I should maybe check into this one.
“Keeping interior doors open allows for airflow throughout the entire place. Closing the door to unused rooms creates a smaller space to be cooled, so the a/c or fan won’t have to work as hard, and the room you are in will cool down faster. This will come back to thank you on your next electricity bill!”
Honestly, I did not even think about closing doors. This should help us in our home!
“Glass panes can only do so much, so to keep the rays out, keep your blinds closed during the day. This will block out unnecessary heat, and you’re a/c won’t have to work as hard either!”
I love sunlight, but this really makes a lot of sense. This will be another habit that I start!
I hope these tips help you too! Below, you’ll find one of my favorite ways to stay cool…sorbet! These are some sorbet and ice cream makers that you can have in your own home.
Another fun way to beat the heat is to enjoy a pool party with friends, and I have a blog with some fun ideas.
