Valentine’s Day for Dogs

Valentine’s Day for Dogs |  Lady Luxe Life

Valentine’s Day for Dogs is just as important in our household as it is for all of our humans.  How about you?  AKC had a blog about ways to make your dog feel special, and I thought I’d share a few of my favorite ideas!

Have a “Date Night” In

The blog mentioned, “You and your dog may want to opt for a relaxing evening at home. Sometimes it’s nice to just cuddle up on the couch and watch a good movie. If it happens to be a dog movie, even better. Giving your furry friend extra attention and cuddles is a surefire way to make them feel special on Valentine’s Day.”

All of you who are dog owners know, that your dog just wants to be with you.  It doesn’t matter what you are doing!  But isn’t it fun to make it about your dog? I haven’t ever tried doing a dog movie, but that sounds fun.  Who doesn’t love a good dog movie.

Massage Your Dog

AKC mentions, “Yes, you read that right. Massages are beneficial to dogs, just as they are for humans. If your dog is already an athlete, they’ll appreciate the added attention to sore muscles.

However, massages are good for all canines, even those couch potatoes.  Massages reduce stress and anxiety, increase circulation, decrease pain, and strengthen the bond between you and your dog, making it a perfect Valentine’s Day activity.”

Massages are one of my favorite gifts to myself, and I think this would be such a sweet surprise for my pups too!

Treat Your Dog Right

“Anyone who’s seen a ravenous pup devour their dinner can confirm that dogs love to eat. Treats are a great way to provide mental stimulation via training while showing your dog some love in the process. Sure, giving treats might be something you do every day anyway. If treats are what your dog loves, who are you to deny them some snacks (in moderation) on this day dedicated to love?” , states the AKC Blog.

Dog treats can be healthy too.  My blog on Oravet is a good one regarding how I give my dogs this dental treat, and they think they are heaven!  Other dog blogs here on my website include How to keep your Dog Entertained Indoors, Tail Way of my Dogs and Adopting a Dog.  Check them out!

Every day is Valentine’s Day at our house, so these aren’t limited to one day.  How about we spoil our dogs daily like they do us?
