Why Should We Exercise? I thought this would be a great blog for today since it’s National Women’s Health and Fitness Day! My husband is in the medical field, so I am a big fan of true science, and I thought I’d share a few benefits listed on the Mayo Clinic Site article!
CONTROL WEIGHT:
I’m not going to lie, this is one of my favorite benefits of working out. I just feel so much better when I’m healthy, inside and out.
COMBATS DISEASE:
This is my #1 motivator for exercising. I want to do everything I can to prevent against diabetes, and exercise along with my diet is the key. Not only is it good to prevent diabetes, but it also helps with heart disease, anxiety, depression, cancer and strokes.
PROMOTES BETTER SLEEP:
The older I get, the more I like this benefit! This Mayo article quotes, “Struggling to snooze? Regular physical activity can help you fall asleep faster, get better sleep and deepen your sleep. Just don’t exercise too close to bedtime, or you may be too energized to go to sleep.”
PUTS SPAR BACK INTO SEX LIFE:
I bet I got your attention on this one!
“Do you feel too tired or too out of shape to enjoy physical intimacy? Regular physical activity can improve energy levels and increase your confidence about your physical appearance, which may boost your sex life.
But there’s even more to it than that. Regular physical activity may enhance arousal for women. And men who exercise regularly are less likely to have problems with erectile dysfunction than are men who don’t exercise.”
I’m not sure about you, but this is certainly a motivator!
