Veterans Day is right around the corner…and what a great day every year to stop and reflect on how blessed we are to live in America!

I was pretty touched when I was researching ways to honor our veterans, and I hope you find these ideas great for you and your family.  I would love to hear from you if you have any other ideas I could add!

An article by Mental Floss has 11 different ways to honor our veterans, and I’m listing my 4 favorite below!

PICK UP THEIR TAB:

Anytime (okay…maybe not every time!) you see a soldier standing in line behind you, pick up their tab! Or even if they’re seated at another table…or picking up a coffee.  Whatever the situation.  And if you can do it anonymously …it’s even better!

REPLACE ONE LIGHT BULB WITH A GREEN ONE:

I don’t think I’ve ever seen this, but I think it’s such a cool idea!

SPONSOR AN HONOR FLIGHT:

This is another one which I had never heard about, but it can be done for as low as $4!

VOLUNTEER AT A VA HOSPITAL: 

I love this idea!  There are so many ways we can volunteer, but this might be one of my favorites.  We have 1 up north of Austin and 1 in San Antonio, but even for a holiday, it might be fun for the family to go!
